ABOUT THE SHOW
This joyous family musical follows a year in the life of Likah, an adopted border collie puppy, and her older “Sister”, as their reluctant bond grows to one of unconditional love. From playful adventures (including some mischievous Squirrels) to life’s hardest lesson – the loss of someone dear – Likah discovers the strength to carry on with hope and joy.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
LIKAH: (Female presenting, Mezzo-Soprano, 18-25) An innocent, spirited puppy new to the household – full of love, wonder, and ready to embrace the world through play and discovery. Her initial experiences are always "the very best ever!" but she soon learns not all of life’s lessons are joyful. She loves her Mommy, the Squirrels, and especially her older sister... even though Sister doesn’t feel the same way.
SISTER: (Female presenting, Mezzo-Soprano, 30+) The older, cranky dog in the household who is concerned with losing her place in the family and having to share Mommy’s love with her younger, newly adopted sister, Likah. Though reluctant at first, she eventually accepts – and even learns to love – her pesky sibling, while facing the realities of growing older and the fragility of life.
MOMMY: (Female presenting, Mezzo Soprano, 30+) The human Mommy who adores both her “furry” children. Nurturing, caring, and a little bit on the quirky side, this endlessly loving dog-mom dotes on Likah and Sister while tending to their unique needs. Balancing the demands of raising a playful puppy with caring for an aging dog, Mommy embodies unconditional love, empathy, and the perseverance of joy.
SQUIRREL 1 [CAST] & SQUIRREL 2 (Puppeteers, Male or Female Presenting, All vocal types- Squirrels may have character voices,18+): The edgy, cheeky squirrels are self-appointed observers and commentators on the actions of Mommy, Sister, and most especially... Likah, who has the annoying habit of interrupting their day. Comical and snarky with a contemporary flair, they side with Sister first, only to realize how dull life was before Likah. Foils turned allies, they learn to embrace Likah and help bring the family together. These roles involve voicing and performing hand-and-rod squirrel puppets.
ENSEMBLE (Male/Female presenting, all vocal types,18+): Performers to bring extra magic to the world of Likah. Ensemble artists will perform additional background puppetry and create playful scenic transitions, helping to weave the story together in surprising and imaginative ways.
