ABOUT THE SHOW:
It’s Art Basel, and the stakes are high for the gallery that Mariana runs in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami. And when Mariana’s movie-star mother tries to help out, things get even more complicado. Laughs in Spanish is a fast-paced, cafecíto-induced comedy about art and success – and mothers and (lesbian) daughters.

SALARY:
Rehearsal Pay: $18 per hour
Show Pay: $85 per show
A note on performer pay from The Ren: As part of our commitment to paying artists a living wage, Renaissance Theatre Company is increasing their base pay again in 2025. As our company is only 4 years old, we recognize that we have further to go, but we are proud of our progress at this stage in our growth. Rehearsal Pay: $18/hour, Show Pay: $85/performance. Additionally, performers who have appeared in productions here before receive an additional raise. We also accept submissions from Equity Performers, and have welcomed Equity contracts in the past.

CAROLINA (CARO) - Female presenting. Late 20/early 30s. Latina. A painter. Unconventional, Intuitive, Passionate.
JUAN - Male Presenting- Late 20/early 30s- Latino. A Miami Dade Police officer. Warm, Goofy, Easy-going.
JENNY - Female Presenting. Late 20/early 30s. White. A Personal assistant.
CASTING NOTE: All characters except Jenny are native Spanish speakers.
